This blog post contains my first giveaway. Read on to learn what product made me excited enough to want to share it with my readers. THREE readers will win this mystery product.
I woke up this morning, itching to move. I’ve been working so hard this week and didn’t work out. I started to write that I didn’t have time to work out but that’s not really true. Anybody can squeeze in a quick workout if she really wants to. It’s just a lame excuse. Even with everything I have going on, I could have woken up a half hour early and done something athletic. Instead, I chose to stay in my bed this week. I am going to call it like it is.
So I didn’t work out this week and woke up today feeling like sloth. I lay in my bed, trying to decide what I wanted to do. I thought to myself, what is my favorite form of exercise? I like to vary my workouts. I enjoy spin classes, step classes, pilates, elliptical, weights, sculpt classes, boot camp… but what would I do if I could do any workout?
I got up, pulled on my sneakers, and went for a jog outside. The sun was shining on my face and the street felt amazing under my feet. As I trekked up and down the hills in my neighborhood, I let my mind wander. I first went through and organized everything I needed to do in the coming week. And then my mind was clear. I listened to my music and just enjoyed the outside.
And this brings me to my giveaway. I was listening to the music using a pair of Sennheiser PMX 70 Sport Headphones given to me by somebody in the company. Usually, when I run, I start to become annoyed with my headphones a mile or so in. Either the sound isn’t exactly right or the earpieces begin to hurt my ears. When I first saw these headphones, I was skeptical. The headband goes around the back of your head and not over the top. It seemed weird but let me tell you- it felt great. The headphones were really comfortable and the sound was amazing.
In the name of trying to get all of you to go outside and run… I am giving away three pairs of these great headphones. For more information on them, go to www.SennheiserUSA.com.
So- what do you have to do to win them? Just leave me a comment and tell me about your favorite workout. Three respondents will win a pair of these great headphones. Don’t forget to leave your e-mail address or Twitter ID so I can contact you if you win!

Hey, nice post, very well written. You should write more about this.
My favorite workout is mountain biking with a friend through some of the great singletrack we have here in San Diego. I find that I keep my heart rate up for much longer that than if I was just at the gym on the stationary bike. Riding with a friend makes me push myself even harder because if I start slacking off I will fall behind. I also get a nice tan (albeit just on my arms and neck) in the process.
I love to bike- although I prefer road biking! Mountain biking can be a little frightening for me but it is a terrific workout. Thanks for writing!
I love to walk. Add a toddler in a stroller and it can be a very good work out! Thanks for the giveaway!
@notdiyheather
My favorite is definitely playing soccer. Can’t do much of that while 8 months pregnant, so I settle for long walks either with or without the kids. Or picking up and putting down my 20 pound 1 year old 11 million times a day
@monsterchew
I LOVE to go on walks, but if the weather is not suitable, then I can be found dancing all over the house, or using the Wii and doing an EA Active workout!
I do Tai Chi, a bit of Shaolin and Tae bo but my fave workout is walking. Only because I get to do it with my now 5 yo daughter who enjoys the walks with me since she was a baby. I want to influence her with good healthy habits in a fun way so We both enjoy listening to music during the walk. I think that the headphone will be a great gadget so we don’t have to keep sharing the only one I have!
Thanks for this chance!

this is a really nice article.. i think im gunna write a found poem on this!!! tnx!!=D
Thanks for the info on the headphones — they are an essential piece of workout equipment and it is surprising how difficult it is to find a comfortable model.
My favorite workout has got to be when I was getting ready for my first marathon. When you have your whole family routing you on, it makes it all the better when you train for something. I enjoyed running in the hills or along the beach and everytime I do I need my music. Music inspires me and makes the run that much more easier. Listening to music and running are my two of my favorite things to do.
My fav workout is swing dancing with my fiancee!
My favorite workout consists of 3 different activities.
1. good warm up – joggin in place or light treadmill
2. stretching combined with calisthenics
3. alternating days of muscle strength weight training and cardio (running or stairmaster) workouts.
I have an endless variety of exercises so it really never gets boring! Additionally I like to focus on functional strength not just bodybuilding!
~Woot~ I’m getting excited just thinking about it!
Hi! My favorite work out is walking while listening to great music! Thanks

My favorite workout has got to be when I went jogging with my siblings and friends. The park had just turned off their lights so it was pitch black. We were still running but couldn’t see where each other was. The only way we knew was hearing the other’s harsh breathing. We eventually found each other by this and ended our jog at the same time. Pretty cool…
I love a good swim with the family! My husband and I take turns playing with the kids and swimming laps! We are def. exhausted by the time we go home!
My favorite workout is playing basketball with friends.
Just playing a really well live (rock show) is a great workout!

Like to excersise and this information really helps and it inspires me!
My favorite workout is to go running. I still dream of running a marathon someday, for now it remains a distant dream! Oh well
Recently I have started attending a yoga class once a week, which I find very relaxing.
Running after my 3 yo twins and playing all sorts of games is also fun.
I know where you’re coming from when say you felt like a sloth after not working out for a week. I hate to admit it, but my favorite workout is on the treadmill. Why? Well, because I can watch television while I do it. How horrible is that?! I have two favorite tv shows and I’ve set a rule that I can’t watch them unless I do so while on the treadmill.
my favorite workout: hmm, I really have 3. I love to scuba dive. what a better vacation than to do something so out of the ordinary, enjoy nature and lose weight without even trying. i love to get in the water. swimming laps, horsing around walkiing. i love working out with other people. it makes it so much more enjoyable.
By making healthy food choices and exercising, I have lost 30 pounds in the last year. My favorite exercise is hiking, which I tried for the first time since childhood last Labor Day. I can’t get excited about going to the gym or walking around the neighborhood – to me these make exercise seem like a chore rather than an enjoyable experience. Hiking, on the other hand, has been an adventure. I plan my hikes ahead of time, read books about hiking trails, and happily wake up at 5 a.m. to get to the trailhead. I have seen the weight loss and have increased my endurance significantly. Now when I do choose to walk, jog, or do aerobics, I tell myself that it will help me with my next hike, so I can psych myself into it. My goal is that by this Labor Day I will have hiked to my first mountain summit.
I have just embarked on a quest to lose weight. 7 years and 4 children have really taken a toll on me. I’ve started some weight lifting, crunching, rebounding etc, realizing that I have a long journey ahead of me. For now I think i’m going to have to go with the weight lifting as my favorite. It’s challenging and really makes me feel like i’m getting somewhere. I’m ready to do this!
